When you're young you just think you know everything.' Bo, the oldest of four children, was born Mary Cathleen Collins. Her mother, Norma, accompanied her to Greece to film Once Upon A Time, but soon began a romance with a Greek man, leaving her daughter alone much of the time with Derek. 'John was completely honest with all of us,' she says.
Her parents divorced when she was 14 and, within a year, she was truanting from school, hanging out on the beach and experimenting with drugs, until she signed with a theatrical agent. 'The name John Derek meant nothing to me,' she says. 'We were never deceived, never embarrassed, never humiliated by him.' Hang on.
Bo says now that she was 'too young to have that experience' of falling in love at first sight with her husband.
Instead, she says, she was 'interested and fascinated' by him.
'I was living with my husband, wasn't working and had no aspirations to work. That role was such a gift in my life.'Being in a successful movie opens so many doors and makes your life so magical. When I was about 30 or 32, I really thought about it.
